Hi, I’m Kate Weber.

I’m not your typical talk-therapist. I am dynamic in the sense that I’ve been trained in many different evidenced-based models, theories, and techniques, but the therapy that I provide derives from what is needed most by the client sitting in front of me. I do not “follow the rules” of conventional talk therapy. I’m fun, energetic, and authentic. I don’t mind being direct when necessary, and I think it’s OK to sometimes disclose information about myself; after all, the passion and interest that I have for helping others is directly related to my lived experience of trying to ground myself in an unsettling world. I try to stay away from using typical therapy lingo; I trust that my clients will tell me their stories on their own time, when they feel comfortable. I rely heavily on the connection that is felt in the room. So if that connection is not felt by the client, that’s ok; I will assist them with finding a therapist who they can connect with. But, if I do say so myself, I’m pretty easy to connect with because of my openness, curiosity, and compassion for what I do. I work from an attachment-based framework. So if you grew up with not-so-healthy attachments, or you’ve experienced trauma (as so many of us have), I can help! I am a Level One trained EMDR therapist, and am IFS-informed (i.e. Internal Family Systems). With every client, I provide a space that is filled with empathy, understanding, gratitude, and acceptance. I’m looking for clients who are willing take the plunge into unknown territory, as scary as it may seem; clients who are willing to be vulnerable and patient as we work through therapy together; and clients who understand that in order to make progress, change has to happen. And above all, clients who can trust that I will be there for/with them throughout this process. So, if this sounds like it might be a good fit for you, please reach out. Lemon (therapy assistant/fur baby as seen in the second photo) and I are accepting new clients.
